I’m pretty sure it’s the Chrysalis of a Cabbage White butterfly. These would be quite common around plots with brassica’s and large leafed plants. How cool! Check out these images to see if it resembles it… http://tinyurl.com/cx3ewuk
Brilliant, pretty sure that’s what it is! I get a lot of them around my plot during the summer, they’re lovely but the bloody caterpillars savage my cabbages!! Thanks.

Cabbage and celery loopers have a different method of forming a chrysalis. They curl up on a leaf and cover themselves over in a cottony web. Had to click through and hope there were some replies as what a magnificent chrysalis! I’m going to keep a close look around my plot now and see if I can spot anything similar.
